Pat Birch and Pat Leach invite Rotarians and their friends to join them for a prairie walk to support Rotary’s Global Polio Eradication Initiative. We'll celebrate the prairie in spring and Earth Day. Join us at the earth-shelter home of Pat Leach and Bill Oberg for short-and-easy walks through the prairie at their place just northwest of Lincoln. To sweeten the deal, Pat and Pat will provide home-baked cookies, other yummies, and robust beverages. Come to walk in nature or just enjoy the view and the cookies. Further details and a map will be sent following registration. A $50 donation per person is requested. Checks should be made out to "Polio Plus" and turned in at the event. |

Airport Update
Jun 02, 2026 12:00 PM
Anthony Dudas joins the Lincoln community as Executive Director of the Lincoln Airport Authority. With nearly two decades in the aviation industry, he built his career around strengthening airport operations, expanding air service, and delivering infrastructure that supports growing, economically vibrant communities. Most recently, Anthony served as Airport Director at Williston Basin International Airport (XWA), where he led the development, construction, and successful transition to North Dakota’s newest commercial airport. In that role, he oversaw all operational, regulatory, and strategic initiatives, working closely with local, state, and federal partners to expand air service, deliver major capital projects, and grow non-aeronautical revenue opportunities. Anthony believes strongly in being present and engaged in the community, whether through partnerships with local organizations, participation in community events, or supporting initiatives that strengthen both the aviation industry and the regions we serve. Anthony looks forward to bringing a collaborative leadership approach and a strategic, forward-looking mindset to Lincoln as we continue enhancing air service, advancing airport and industrial park development, and reinforcing the airport’s role as a key driver of regional economic growth. |

Solo Atlantic Row
Jun 16, 2026 12:00 PM
Taryn Smith rowed 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean, completely alone, becoming the first American woman to compete in The World’s Toughest Row as a solo athlete. She chronicled her crossing on Instagram, gaining the support of celebrities and fans around the world, including Sharon Stone, Pierce Brosnan, and Katie Couric. Drawing on her experience as a yoga instructor, Taryn’s Atlantic row was a meditation on joy, impermanence, and community. Amidst 30 foot waves, sharks, and unrelenting wind, Taryn found happiness and purpose. Her message is simple: we are meant to do big things and the resilience required comes from community. |

Sep 13, 2026 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
It's been a long-standing tradition for Rotary 14 to host a picnic for collegiate students in our community. This year’s picnic will take place Sunday, September 13, 2026, 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Holmes Lake, Shelter #1.
Here you’ll find a list of items we hope to have donated to help make the event a success. Additionally, we’re looking for volunteers to assist with setup or clean up. Or, if you have a spare gift card lying around that you'd like to donate, we’ll take that, too! Every little bit helps. Our greatest needs include:
This year we're providing three options to help make it easier to donate:
This is an event that has welcomed many international students and many look forward to.
