Mike Farrell and Ethan Freese will discuss the Platte Basin Timelapse project (PBT). PBT began in 2011 with an ambitious goal: to document an entire watershed and use that imagery to spark a deeper appreciation of the stunning places that surround us. PBT has more than 70 timelapse cameras throughout the Platte River Basin in Nebraska, Colorado, and Wyoming that take photos every hour. These cameras constantly monitor change over time on the landscape and have helped document severe drought and flooding in the Platte Basin. PBT has published more than 170 stories on their website including films, photo essays, and ESRI StoryMaps, to give people many ways to explore the natural world.
