Hand Sanitizer? Coffee Cup? Tee Shirt? Reusable Water Bottle? Headphones?
It's unlikely any of those items will be handed out at the 25th Anniversary Celebration for Rotary Club 14 Foundation on June 22. However, there is an aperitif selection followed by your choice of seared fillet or filet alongside succulent, nutritive veggies. A cloying dessert will accompany a sapid brew or decoction.
And then, there are the people-exhilarating, exciting Rotarians! It's copacetic!!!
Recently, Mari Lane Gewecke on behalf of Angie Muhleisen introduced our newest Rotarian Nick Cusick. Nick is co-founder and owner of Bison Inc. of Lincoln, Nebraska, a sporting goods manufacturer with approximately 100 employees.
Nick has served or is currently serving on more than 10 community boards and committees often as chairperson and has been the volunteer chair of a number of local capital campaigns.
Currently, Nick is an elected member of the Lincoln Airport Authority Board. Other recent community involvements include Co-chair of the $24 million capital campaign to expand the Lincoln Children’s Zoo, Co-chairing the LPS Superintendent Facility Advisory Committee that led to a successful bond issue to build 2 new high schools and one new elementary school, and Co-chairing a capital campaign for building a new worship space and classroom addition for his parish.
Nick is 71, married to his wife, Ann, for 50 years, and has four daughters and four grandchildren ages three years through 25. Nick enjoys golf, fishing, hunting, and reading but finds great pleasure in community service and encouraging others to get involved. Welcome to Rotary, Nick!
Recently, Mari Lane Gewecke, on behalf of Angie Muhleisen, introduced returning Rotarian Jennifer Cusick-Rawlinson.
Jennifer Cusick-Rawlinson has been Lincoln sporting goods manufacturer Bison, Inc.’s Marketing & Communication Manager since 2006 and has prior professional experience in the non-profit and investment industries. District 5650 District Conference July 8 - 9, 2022, REGISTER NOW The Hoff Family Culture and Arts Center 1001 S 6th St Council Bluffs, IA 51501
We promise you that this event will be highly interactive, super interesting, and great fun. It is all about you so, of course, it will be those things! Besides, Dwayne Brown (Improv extraordinaire) is our emcee!
Some special notes:
Thursday, July 7, 1pm-4pm. This is a special pre-conference event for anyone who wants to grow and learn about cutting-edge leadership concepts and practices. Hear from thought leaders in the areas of inclusive leadership, leading in the Great Resignation, leading strategic initiatives, and using your influence to make global impact. This session is free and will be held at Full Fledged Brewery in Council Bluffs.
Thursday, July 7, 5-8pm. PARTY! Gather with fellow Rotarians (and potential Rotarians as it is open to the public) for some local pizza, salad, and of course awesome beer (it is also at Full Fledged Brewery). But best of all the Rotary Band (we need a funky name for these folks) will be playing a few songs we know by heart. Very special thank you to Mick McKinley and Mark Sanford for leading our band.
Kids are welcome and encouraged. We just need to know they are coming. Please register you and them early so we can have plans in place. Our Kids Activities Chair is an expert, Conor O'Hara! (he's an actual kid).
