Recently, Chuck Schroeder introduced our newest Rotarian Tim Dornbos. Tim is a Commercial Advisor with NAI FMA Realty, assisting individuals and businesses in reaching their real estate goals. Tim grew up in Lincoln and graduated from Lincoln East High School before getting his degree in Biological Systems Engineering from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. After living in Omaha for 6 years, Tim returned to his hometown of Lincoln in 2021 and soon after joined NAI FMA Realty. Tim’s passions derive from his desire to be around and help others. He enjoys engaging with his church and neighborhood communities, volunteering through various local organizations, coaching youth soccer, and spending time with his wife, two kids, and extended family. Tim is being sponsored to Rotary by Bill Waddell, Chuck Schroeder, and Mike Zeleny. Welcome to Rotary, Tim!

Allen Beermann's message to fellow Rotarians on the passing of his beloved wife, Linda Beermann.
On behalf of our family, I'd like to thank everyone for joining us for Linda's funeral. I know some of you went to great lengths on short notice just to be with me, and I so appreciate the support you've shown our family. It's truly an endearing testament to the community Linda created around her.
When we met with Reverend Keck to discuss the service, he said something that stuck with me throughout the week. He said, "In the Congregational Church, we don't really call it a funeral; we call it a Celebration of Life or a Celebration of Thanksgiving."
Winter is coming, and it will be tough for Ukrainians during the war. Warm jackets, blankets, sleeping bags, hats, gloves, and scarves - more than 600 pieces, were delivered. With the help of Rotarians from RC Zamość and Ukraine - RC Ivano-Frankivsk, PG Vladimir Bondarenko, warm clothes for children arrived at the orphanage in Ivano-Frankivsk, and warm clothes for adults were delivered to the South of Ukraine to the frontline areas.
Every day, children in Ukraine become orphans. Every day children are sent away from the war zone by their parents. Every day Rotary members in Poland and Ukraine do what they can to help those children.
On December 17, a convoy of 21 vans loaded with generators, sleeping bags, coats, mittens, warm clothing and even some food will move from Poland into Ukraine headed to 21 orphanages near the city of Lviv in western Ukraine. One van for each of 21 orphanages filled with children who have lost one or more parents or have been sent there for safety.
Piotr Jankowski, Rotary District Governor for Poland, explains what will take place. http://youtu.be/itW1DPk3yy4
Rotary members in District 5650 (Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa) have the opportunity to donate to a special fund established by District Governor Barbara Bartle to help fill those vans with supplies. Click here to donate by December 13 to help support this humanitarian effort.

On Saturday, October 29, Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln, Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird and members of Lincoln Rotary Club 14, Lincoln Women of Today, Lincoln Quilting Guild and the REALTORS Association of Lincoln gathered to celebrate Martha's home dedication. What a special occasion! Lincoln Rotary Club 14 is proud to be a contributing member to this project.
Big shout out to Immediate Past President Christina Usher, who was instrumental in making Rotary part of Martha's home as the recipient of the proceeds from Rise.Shine.Give last year. Below is the video of Martha's Home Dedication.
Polio, or poliomyelitis, is a paralyzing and potentially deadly infectious disease that most commonly affects children under the age of 5. The virus spreads from person to person, typically through contaminated water. It can then attack the nervous system.
Our goal
Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 35 years. Our goal of ridding the world of this disease is closer than ever.
As a founding partner of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, we've reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent since our first project to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979.
Rotary members have contributed more than $2.1 billion and countless volunteer hours to protect nearly 3 billion children in 122 countries from this paralyzing disease. Rotary’s advocacy efforts have played a role in decisions by governments to contribute more than $10 billion to the effort.
Today, polio remains endemic only in Afghanistan and Pakistan. But it’s crucial to continue working to keep other countries polio-free. If all eradication efforts stopped today, within ten years, polio could paralyze as many as 200,000 children each year.
Every week, we need your help to run the meeting by serving as Greeters and Cashiers. You get attendance credit every time you serve at our weekly meeting. More importantly, it's the best way to meet fellow Rotarians. Volunteer now, click here.
