Allen Beermann's message to fellow Rotarians on the passing of his beloved wife, Linda Beermann. On behalf of our family, I'd like to thank everyone for joining us for Linda's funeral. I know some of you went to great lengths on short notice just to be with me, and I so appreciate the support you've shown our family. It's truly an endearing testament to the community Linda created around her.
When we met with Reverend Keck to discuss the service, he said something that stuck with me throughout the week. He said, "In the Congregational Church, we don't really call it a funeral; we call it a Celebration of Life or a Celebration of Thanksgiving."
And I think that's a really beautiful sentiment, and one that I would ask all of us to embrace on this day and the days to come. Instead of simply mourning the end of Linda's life or regretting the moments we didn't get, let's celebrate and be thankful for all the moments we did share with her. Let's fill our hearts with happy memories of the joy she brought to all of us for 76 years.
Again, thank you for being with me and for helping me celebrate Linda's life.
