Volunteers Needed: Host High School Leadership Awards

We are in need of volunteers to host this year's recipients of our High School Leadership Awards over the coming months. The immediate need is to schedule a time to meet with the student and school representative for brief introductions and set a date for them to come to one of our Club meetings, where you would introduce them and they would give a short speech on their volunteer activities in their school. For more information, contact Doug Blum at blum.doug@gmail.com.

Welcome New Members!
At our October 20 meeting, Rotary 14 welcomed three new members: Sadie Thompson (sponsored by Marcia White, Janell Walther (sponsored by Bryan Seck), and Aaron Hensley (sponsored by Laurie Fraser). Be sure to give a warm Rotary welcome when you see them!

Aaron Hensley,  Sovereigns & Shillings Bullion Co.
Aaron is U.S. Army veteran and entrepreneur from Lincoln, Nebraska. During his military service, he had the opportunity to serve with the 195th FSC SO (A) and deployed to Afghanistan in 2011, an experience that helped shape his values of leadership, service, and commitment to others. Following his military career, he carried those values into entrepreneurship, co-founding 86 Bar Staffing before later founding Sovereigns & Shillings Bullion Co., a Lincoln-based precious metals and numismatic business focused on education, integrity, and building lasting relationships within the community.

Sadie Thompson, Wellbeing Initiative, Inc.
Sadie Thompson, Executive Director of Wellbeing Initiative, Inc., has 18 years of experience in wellness and recovery. She has authored three peer support and workforce development curricula and brings expertise in nonprofit leadership, professional education, advocacy, and systems change. Her lived experience fuels her commitment to ending stigma and addressing the effects of generational and historical trauma. Sadie also serves as Regional Director for Region 7 of the National Council for Mental Wellbeing and on the National Certification Board for Behavioral Health Professionals.

Janell Walther, University of Nebraska Public Policy Center
Dr. Janell Walther is a Research Director at the University of Nebraska Public Policy Center, focusing on public engagement, evaluation, and communication. She serves on the E.N.
