Crushing Food Safety Goals with High-Pressure Processing (HPP)
 
Jeff serves as President at Universal Pure and is the company’s longest-tenured employee. With 35+ years of experience in the food industry, mainly in the protein segment, Jeff is very passionate about food safety and the role Universal Pure plays in the market. Jeff’s experience has spanned sales and leadership positions at Cook Family Foods, ConAgra Brands, and Omaha Steaks.
 
Founded in 2001 as a cold storage warehouse facility in Lincoln, NE, Universal Pure has deep roots in the cold supply chain. Over time their customers’ needs grew for other integrated food and beverage services, so they expanded their capabilities and footprint to meet the needs of a growing customer base. Universal Pure is a one-stop-shop service provider to the food and beverage industry, offering a suite of cold chain solutions across six U.S. facilities.

Welcome Newest Rotarian Regan Anson
Recently, Leslie Levy introduced our newest Rotarian Regan Anson. Anson is Assistant Vice President of Communications and Media Relations at EducationQuest. Anson is the chief communications strategist responsible for the management of EducationQuest’s branding, advertising, marketing, public relations, and media relations efforts aimed at enhancing knowledge and support of the organization.

Prior to joining EducationQuest, Anson was Executive Director of Nebraska Impact and the Nebraska 150 Celebration. She previously served as Director of Marketing and Communications at Peru State College, Communications Director for the Nebraska Attorney General, and Deputy Communications Director for the Nebraska Governor.

Priscilla Henkelmann Paul Harris Fellow Plus 4
Priscilla Henkelmann recently was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow Plus 4. Priscilla is a long-time member of Club 14 and holds the distinction of being the first woman introduced into regular membership in Club 14. She has served on the Club 14 Board twice, including currently, and has also served on the Club 14 Foundation Board, including many years as Foundation Board Treasurer. Additionally, she has chaired and served on many different committees over the years. These include the Rotary International Committee, Youth Exchange, Global Engagement, and the Auction Committees.

Professionally, she held a number of positions in the mental health and human services field, including fifteen years as Director of Community Mental Health Services for the State of Nebraska. Rotary’s international focus was a major reason Priscilla joined Rotary, so she considers it a privilege to continue supporting the Foundation and its many programs around the globe.

Last Week at Rotary
Last week at Rotary, we are glad to see Past District Governor Jim Mastera back in the swing of things after major surgery. We had one of the most attended meetings in celebration of Memorial Day honoring SPC Blake C. Kelly, Nebraska Army National Guard. Big shout out to the In-Club Celebrations Committee and Tim Kenny for organizing the beautiful celebration. The Rotary Foundation Co-Chair Ken Koop recognized multiple Paul Harris Fellows (PHF): Maury Halstead PHF +8, Immediate Past President Eric Drumheller PHF +4, and Sheila Odom PHF +1.

TRF Co-Chair & Rotary Director Ken Koop with President Christina Usher recognized Maury Halstead PHF +8, IPP Eric Drumheller PHF +4, and Sheila Odom PHF +1 with a total combined donation to TRF in the amount of $16,000.00. Congratulations & Thank You, Rotarians!
