During our Memorial Day meeting, a Rotary Paul Harris Fellowship in honor of the fallen is presented to the family. The Club 14 members hope, with the enrollment of the honoree’s name and memory on our “Roster of Honor,” some comfort is gained by the family by our commitment to annually recognize the “service above self” of their loved one. Our Memorial Day speakers help us tie together the military and civilian expressions of “service above self.” Speakers with a military background provide examples, derived or influenced by their military experience, of their work in museums, hospitals, business and public service, which improve the lives of the oppressed, advance the interests of our society or preserve the health and safety of our community.
Club 14’s Memorial Day celebration is a recognition of that generous spirit, evidenced in both military and civilian commitment to “service above self.” In recognition of their military Service above Self, the following is a list of Nebraska service members enrolled on Rotary Club 14’s “Roster of Honor” Lance Cpl.
