Dr. Chris Haeffner is the Director of Library Services for Lincoln Public Schools (LPS), a role she has held since joining the district in 1996, and she also serves as a key administrator for Educational Service Unit (ESU) 18, where she oversees digital and physical resources for one of Nebraska's largest school districts. A passionate advocate for literacy and digital citizenship, she has spearheaded district-wide curricula that teach students how to navigate the internet safely and ethically, while also curating the MOSAIC Collection to ensure diverse literature reflects the experiences of all students. Her forward-thinking leadership has driven the transformation of traditional school libraries into dynamic, technology-rich Learning Commons that better serve the evolving needs of students and educators. Through nearly three decades of service, Dr. Haeffner has established herself as a distinguished and visionary leader in the field of school librarianship.
If you enjoy learning more about Lincoln's history, sharing good food and beverages with interesting people and enjoying a unique view atop one of our city's historic buildings, you should join us!
The Downtown Scavenger Hunt Epic Experience is scheduled for Saturday, May 16th. We will gather for an aperitif at 4:00 pm where President Randy will explain the scavenger hunt parameters. He assures us that it won't be physically taxing and will take approximately 60 to 90 minutes to complete.
At the conclusion of the game, we will gather back at University Towers for a casual dinner and fellowship with our Rotary friends.
Tickets are $100 and benefit the Rotary #14 Foundation. We hope you can join us! Contact Past President Jennifer Williams or President Randy to secure your spot today!

Congratulations to our latest recipient of the Rotary 14 High School Student Leadership Award. Charlie Eloge from Bryan Community School joined Rotary 14 on Tuesday, April 28 to accept this honor.
Every year, Rotary 14 invites a student from each local high school to present information to the club membership regarding the importance of community service at their school. To share the Rotary mission with area high school students and create an interest in the ideals of service. Committee members work with school administrators to identify a student leader to accept the award and work with those students to create a short presentation to be given at a regular club meeting.
These same students are encouraged to participate in the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards seminar held by Rotary District 5650 each spring. They are also made aware of the Club’s High School Scholarship criteria and encouraged to apply, if appropriate
