This Week's Program (Oct 20): Cynci Petersen, The Hope Venture

Topic: Take the Risk

Cynci Petersen is the Director and Founder of The Hope Venture, a nonprofit here in Lincoln. The Hope Venture is on an adventure to bring hope and dignity to the most disadvantaged people in the world. For the past 17 years, it has been working around the world doing roughly 60 education and health projects for those in extreme poverty, people making less than $3/day. From a stay-at- home mom of four boys to the CEO of a global organization that has now helped over 120,000 people since they started, Cynci is passionate about all of us learning to be generous, all of us learning to bring kindness to the hurting around us. She likes working hard but also likes playing, especially lately, every Tuesday afternoon when she takes time off to hang out with her 2 grandsons, Olly and River.

Everett Volunteer Opportunities

Here are some exciting volunteer opportunities at Everett School. Please take a moment to check out the links below to sign up and get involved. Your support truly makes a difference in the lives of the students and the community.

As many of you know, ten years ago, Rotary 14's board decided to focus our efforts on Everett. Our first big project was funding the new playground equipment, which the students really enjoy. To celebrate this special 10-year partnership, we're happy to introduce a new way for Rotary 14 to help out — by supporting Everett's monthly Food Market Program. We’re looking for 25 volunteers each month to lend a hand and help distribute food to the students.  It would be wonderful to have you join us.
