Recently, Cindi Allen introduced our newest member, Robert Evnen. Bob took office on January 10, 2019, as Nebraska’s 27th Secretary of State. Secretary of State Evnen, a Republican, previously served for eight years on the Nebraska State Board of Education. He is the chief protocol officer for the State of Nebraska for international relations and trade. Prior to becoming elected Secretary of State of Nebraska, he practiced labor law for more than 40 years. Evnen’s family settled in Nebraska more than 110 years ago when his great-grandfather, a carpenter and cabinet maker, emigrated from Russia. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California. Secretary Evnen resides in Lincoln. He and his wife Debra have three adult children and 3 grandchildren.
