Last week, Sharon Wherry introduced our newest member, Pat Stear. A cum laude graduate of Doane College, she has been a music and a languages teacher and interpreter. (French, Spanish, two kinds of Sign Language and can greet folks in about 20 other languages). She initiated and has been active with Contra Dance of Lincoln and performed with the University of Nebraska International Folk Dancers. Pat has nine children, and six grandchildren. Before college, she served as a Rotary Exchange Student in Concepcion, Tucuman, Argentina. She had the opportunity to travel to 19 cities in 21 days with Felix Kitroser who later became the International President of Rotary and his wife, Sarita. A sister from her last host family, Ana Lia Martinez, returned to live with Pat for a year and visited Rotary Club 14 since her dad, Bob Stear, was a member. Pat wants to support Rotary and the exchange program however she can.
Thank you, Sharon, for sponsoring Pat to Rotary. Welcome to Rotary, Pat!
