February 7, 2023, Lincoln, NE. Recently, Randy Hawthorne introduced our newest Rotarian, Matt Kasik. Matt Kasik is the CEO of Region V Services, Nebraska’s largest provider of services for those with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD). Based in Lincoln, Region V Services provides support for 700 individuals with I/DD through 760 employees throughout Southeast Nebraska.Prior to his current role, Matt spent three years at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, and 16-years at the Lincoln Journal Star in various leadership roles. Matt earned his bachelor's degree in Business Management from the Nebraska Wesleyan University and is currently pursuing his MBA through Wayne State College.
Matt takes great pride in his active involvement in the community. He served as a Teammates mentor from 2011 to 2017 and will be matched again in the fall. Matt served on the board of directors for Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln from 2015 to 2021 and was President of the board in 2019. Matt has been an active member of Sheridan Lutheran Church in Lincoln since 2003. He serves on the Youth Leadership Council, which steers youth programming for the congregation. Through this ministry, Matt has served on three mission trips, where he helped to foster youth-led volunteer service in California, Georgia, and Minnesota. Matt is one of Nebraska’s leading advocates for those with developmental disabilities, using his platform to ensure dignity, respect, and inclusion for those who have disabilities.
Matt is a lifelong Nebraskan who grew up near Schuyler. He and his wife, Lisa have three daughters: Paige, Leighton, and Ashlynn.
