Recently, Christie Weston introduced our newest member, Joe Spitsen. Born and raised in Lincoln, he is the Assistant Manager for Regional Housing Accelerator Development and Training with the Nebraska Investment Finance Authority (NIFA). Joe works in the development and deployment of training and resource instruction programs in order to increase access to affordable housing and has been active in NIFA’s role in disaster response to the 2018 flooding.Prior to joining NIFA, Joe worked as a Rating Officer for the Department of Veteran’s Affairs for over a decade, landing there after a couple of years teaching martial arts in Jacksonville, Florida. Joe doesn’t use his black belt skills as much as he used to, now spending his time hanging out with his wife, Jessica, and dog, Trafford, trying to find space for his ever-expanding vinyl collection and playing piano, guitar, and ukulele.
