Recently, Mari Lane Gewecke was recognized by The Rotary Foundation co-chair Terry Wittler as Paul Harris Fellow +1. Mari has been a Rotarian for 25 years and maintains a perfect Rotary attendance for 20 years. She served on the Rotary Board and is active in several committees.
 
Mari Lane Gewecke was a founding partner in 1991 of the consulting firm now operating as Lane Gewecke Consulting. Her firm specializes in qualitative research for government entities and nonprofit organizations. Prior to that, Mari held management roles in business, government, and nonprofit organizations. In 1996, Mari received the John F. “Rick” Akin Award from the Capital Humane Society for significant contributions to the welfare and protection of animals. In 2015, she was named Alumna of the Year by the Nebraska Women's Leadership Network of the Nebraska Alumni Association.
 
Her statement on why she supports The Rotary Foundation: "I support the Rotary International Foundation because of the breadth of its philanthropic activity around the world. My personal interests as a Foundation donor are in the environment and, most recently, the crisis fund set up by the Rotary Foundation to support Ukrainian relief efforts. The speed at which the Foundation responded to the devastating humanitarian crisis along the borders of Ukraine is emblematic of what our Rotary Foundation can do in and for our world."
