Introducing Rotary 14 President Jess Kinser, Vice President of Communications and Marketing for Farmers Mutual of Nebraska. With 13 years of Rotary experience and an impeccable perfect attendance record for six years, Jess is a dedicated Rotarian and a Paul Harris Fellow. Jess graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a major in broadcasting, launching her career in that field before finding her passion in marketing. Recognizing her enthusiasm, she pursued a master's degree in business administration, focusing on marketing at UNL.
Currently serving as the Vice President of Communications and Marketing at Farmers Mutual of Nebraska, Jess' involvement with Rotary 14 was an obvious choice. Introduced to Rotary 14 by her former boss at Vision Maker Media in 2010, she embraced the organization as an opportunity to expand her network beyond her industry, learn from others, and foster personal growth. Jess views Rotary as a reciprocal experience, emphasizing that one gets as much as one puts in.
Jess has actively participated in committees and has dedicated herself to fundraising efforts, notably co-chairing the Rise Shine Give project for a year. She finds fulfillment in joining Rotary service projects such as bell ringing for the Salvation Army. Recently, Jess represented Rotary at the Rotary International Convention in Melbourne, Australia, where she gained valuable insights to enhance her leadership within our club.
As Jess begins her tenure as Rotary 14 President, she envisions another remarkable year for the club. Encouraging each member to engage with Rotary actively, she emphasizes the value that can be derived from their membership. With her leadership, enthusiasm, and commitment, Jess aims to create a thriving Rotary community where every member can contribute and benefit.
Merle Jansen, a living legend in the Rotary community, continues to inspire with his extraordinary accomplishments and ongoing dedication to service. With an illustrious Rotary journey spanning over 53 years, Merle's impact is felt in multiple clubs and across various leadership positions.
Merle has been an active member of three distinguished Rotary clubs: the Norfolk Noon Rotary Club, the Sioux Falls, South Dakota Noon Rotary Club, and the Lincoln #14 Rotary Club. His passion for Rotary remains as vibrant as ever as he actively contributes to the organization.
Throughout his Rotary service, Merle has held prestigious roles, including the honor of serving as President of both the Norfolk Club and the esteemed Lincoln Club #14. As he presided over Club #14, the club celebrated its 85th anniversary, a momentous occasion marked by the presence of Rotary International President Herbert G. Brown. President Brown participated in the dedication of the Rotary Seniors Park, a significant project of Club #14. To commemorate the celebration, he presented Merle and 30 other members of Club #14 with Paul Harris awards, a testament to their exceptional dedication and contributions.
Merle's commitment to expanding the reach of Rotary led him to play a pivotal role in the organization of the Lincoln Morning Rotary Club. Although the club disbanded in recent years, Merle's efforts in its establishment highlight his unwavering commitment to extending the impact of Rotary's mission.
As District Governor of Rotary District #5650 during the 2000-2001 Rotary year, Merle's leadership left an indelible mark. The district experienced remarkable success in membership growth, earning them the esteemed 21st Century Challenge Award. In recognition of this achievement, Merle accepted the award on behalf of the district from Rotary International President Frank J. Devlyn at the RI convention in San Antonio, Texas.
Merle's unwavering dedication to Rotary is evidenced by his remarkable perfect attendance record, spanning over 30 years of actively participating in Rotary meetings. This remarkable feat showcases his enduring commitment to Rotary's values and mission.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Merle was honored with the esteemed "Rotarian of the Year Award" by Club #14. This prestigious accolade demonstrates his ongoing commitment, remarkable service, and dedication to Rotary.
Merle Jansen's continued involvement and unwavering passion for Rotary serve as an inspiration to Rotarians worldwide. His incredible legacy, alive and thriving, will continue to guide and motivate future Rotarians to make a difference in their communities and beyond.

Bob Everitt introduced Andru Meiners to Rotary 14 recently. Andru is an experienced architect who works with OPN Architects. He has been practicing architecture for over a decade and resides in Lincoln, but grew up on a farm near Templeton, IA. Andru attended Kuemper High School in Carroll, IA, and later pursued a Bachelor of Science and Design and a Master of Architecture from UNL. He met his wife, Brittany, while studying at UNL, and they have two sons, Finn (7) and Owen (4). Andru has always been passionate about architecture and the built environment. He loves designing for diverse communities and people and values the community aspect of architecture. As a child, Andru volunteered in local assisted living communities and was a member of 4-H. Andru joined the Rotary to create a positive impact on communities that benefits all. Welcome to Rotary, Andru!
R. Gordon R. McInally is president of Rotary International. He was educated at the Royal High School in Edinburgh and at the University of Dundee, where he earned his graduate degree in dental surgery. He operated his own dental practice in Edinburgh until 2016. Gordon was chair of the East of Scotland branch of the British Paedodontic Society and has held various academic positions. He has also served as a presbytery elder, chair of the Queensferry parish congregational board, and commissioner to the general assembly of the Church of Scotland. Rotary 14 Club Survey The Project Grants Evaluation Committee (PGE) is responsible for effectively focusing the financial and volunteer resources of the club at the local, district, and international levels, to ensure that those resources align with Rotary International and Rotary 14 priorities. Committee guidelines require PGE to survey the Rotary 14 membership every other year to determine our highest priority areas. Those guidelines also ask us to consult annually with Prosper Lincoln for information on community needs, and you will see that noted on the survey. Now we need your input!
