Welcome Newest Rotarians Dana Schmidt and Matt Lehnert
Recently, Corporate Membership Chair Angie Muhleisen introduced new Rotarians Matt Lehnert and Aaron Fenton of Concorde Management & Development.

DANA SCHMIDT

Dana Schmidt is one of the managing partners and a co-owner of Concorde and Blue Rock. Dana is responsible for development, acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, construction and asset management for the company’s current and future projects.

Prior to joining Concorde, Dana was with First Industrial Realty Trust overseeing development and redevelopment in the mountain states of the US and Canada including Denver, Salt Lake City, Reno, Calgary and Edmonton. While at First Industrial, Dana completed over 3 million square feet of development, redevelopment and acquisitions across Western North America. Previously he was with Midwest First Financial in Omaha.

A native of Nebraska, he earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska in Business Administration (Finance) and a master’s degree from the University of Denver (Daniels College of Business in Real Estate and Construction Management). MATT LEHNERT

Matt brings with him the sales, finance, and relationship skills built during a 12-year tenure as a Finance Manager at DuTeau Chevrolet/Subaru. In particular, Matt hopes to emphasize the business relations facet while assisting you and your business with any real estate needs.

Matt enjoys live music, golf, and spending time with his wife, Amy and their two daughters. You may also catch Matt out on weekends playing in his band, Loose Affiliation.
White Elephant Gift for Christmas Party
Christmas Party chair Sandi Fabry and the In-Club Ceberations Committee are reminding Rotarians to bring their white elephant gift tomorrow, December 20, at Rotary. See details below:

Bring a wondrously wrapped or beautifully bagged gift to the Rotary celebration on December 20.

*****(This is a recycled, been there - done that, white elephant-type item that you have no use for. You may not even like it, but it's a decent thing! You have pushed it to the back of a closet or a shelf in the garage thinking that maybe it could be useful sometime - maybe. Well, now's the time to upgrade that "item" to gift status!!!!
       2. Wrap it up or bag it and make it so very, very pretty.
AND
Bring cash or a check on December 20th to purchase a ticket for $5.00. That will give you a chance to take home a lovely "gift" if the other half of your ticket is pulled. You may even decide to purchase 2 tickets or 5 tickets. Each of those tickets is an opportunity to discover something wonderful all wrapped up for the holiday!!
We hope not to run out or gifts, but if we do, you might be happy to have made a donation to your very own Rotary 14 Foundation.
AND
If you simply WANT to make a donation to the Rotary 14 Foundation to continue its excellent history of “Doing Good,” that will be so appreciated.
SO
We need "gifts."
We need ticket purchases!!
We need YOU and your SMILE!

Martha's Home Dedication
On Saturday, October 29, Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln, Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird and members of Lincoln Rotary Club 14, Lincoln Women of Today, Lincoln Quilting Guild and the REALTORS Association of Lincoln gathered to celebrate Martha's home dedication. What a special occasion! Lincoln Rotary Club 14 is proud to be a contributing member to this project.

Big shout out to Immediate Past President Christina Usher, who was instrumental in making Rotary part of Martha's home as the recipient of the proceeds from Rise.Shine.Give last year. Below is the video of Martha's Home Dedication.

What is polio?

What is Polio?
Polio, or poliomyelitis, is a paralyzing and potentially deadly infectious disease that most commonly affects children under the age of 5. The virus spreads from person to person, typically through contaminated water. It can then attack the nervous system.

Our goal
Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 35 years. Our goal of ridding the world of this disease is closer than ever.

As a founding partner of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, we've reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent since our first project to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979.

Rotary members have contributed more than $2.1 billion and countless volunteer hours to protect nearly 3 billion children in 122 countries from this paralyzing disease. Rotary’s advocacy efforts have played a role in decisions by governments to contribute more than $10 billion to the effort.

Today, polio remains endemic only in Afghanistan and Pakistan. But it’s crucial to continue working to keep other countries polio-free. If all eradication efforts stopped today, within ten years, polio could paralyze as many as 200,000 children each year.

Opportunity for Club Service
Every week, we need your help to run the meeting by serving as Greeters and Cashiers. You get attendance credit every time you serve at our weekly meeting. More importantly, it's the best way to meet fellow Rotarians. Volunteer now, click here.
