Cindi Allen, from the Rotary Club of Ogallala, was recently introduced to our club by Allen Beermann. Last month, Cindi relocated to Lincoln to begin her service as the new Assistant Secretary of State of the State of Nebraska. Cindi has been a Rotarian for 20 years in Ogallala where she served as President, Board member and Interact Chair for 13 years. She is a Paul Harris Fellow. She hosted four Rotary exchange students in her home, and her two daughters participated in Rotary student exchange in Germany and Italy. She also raised funds and took five high school students to India to vaccinate children against polio, and worked with Alliance for Smiles in Bangladesh. Cindi served in the Ogallala School Board where she was a successful fundraiser and has raised $136,000 to renovate the high school lecture hall using various fundraising methods. Cindi is a champion in promoting Nebraska to the nation and the world having served in the Nebraska Ag Leadership Council, Governor's International Trade Council, US Global Leadership Coalition, Agricultural Policy and Advisory Committee (APAC), Washington DC.
