Dan Kappel graduated from the University of Minnesota with a teaching degree in math and physics. He worked as a teacher in Minnesota for 4 years and spent the next 28 years working for the YMCA in various positions in Minneapolis, LA, Omaha, St Louis, and lastly Chicago. After 2 strokes, Dan retired in 2018 and move to Lincoln to be closer to his two grandchildren, his daughter, and son-in-law. He and his wife Helen, a retired occupational therapist both enjoy the Lincoln community and have made some good friends.
