Recently, Past President Mark Stephens introduced our new newest Rotarian, Rico Zavala. Rico was born in Grand Island, Nebraska and is a graduate of Wood River Rural High School.  Rico attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he graduated in 2004 with degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology.   

Rico began working with CEDARS Youth Services in 2005 where he continues to serve today.  Currently, Rico is the Director of Services for CEDARS where he gets to opportunity to oversee many of the day to day operations and services being provided to youth and families.  Rico believes that collaboration, partnership, and selflessness are key when working to improve our community. Rico is active in the community as he serves as Vice President for the Nebraska Juvenile Justice Association, is on the Board of Directors for the Bridge Behavioral Health, serves as Vice President on the Norris Baseball Association Board of Directors, is a member of Nebraska Coalition for Juvenile Justice and is a proud alum of Leadership Lincoln Class 32. 

Rico and his wife Angela have been married for 15 years and reside in Hickman with their 3 children.  Rico enjoys spending time with his family, coaching youth sports and visiting all the amazing breweries Lincoln has to offer.
