Kathryn Christensen retired in 2017 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln after nine years as a Professor of Practice in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. This followed a long career in television and newspaper news. Prior to joining the UNL faculty, she was vice president, television for The Wall Street Journal, directing Dow Jones & Company’s relationship with CNBC. Previously, she had been a vice president of the Dow Jones International Group, based in Hong Kong, and serving as interim publisher of The Far Eastern Economic Review. Her other positions at The Wall Street Journal included Senior Editor, London Bureau Chief, News Editor, Boston Bureau Chief, and reporting assignments in the Dallas and San Francisco bureaus.

At ABC News, Ms. Christensen’s positions included Executive Producer and Managing Editor of World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, executive producer of World News Saturday/Sunday, and senior producer in charge of foreign coverage.
During her journalism career, she was also managing editor of The Baltimore Sun and a reporter for The Chicago Daily News, The Charlotte News, and The Des Moines Register. She is a former member of the boards of CARE USA and The Health Care Chaplaincy in New York City. She is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
