Recently, Andrew Loudon introduced our newest member Chris Boik. Chris Boik is a corporate executive with over 20 years of professional work experience across manufacturing, healthcare and retail industries. He is currently a Vice President of Operations at UnitedHealth Group, a diversified health insurance and services provider, and the sixth-largest company in the United States. At UnitedHealth, he has led operations groups from 2-1200 people, and has specialized over the past five years in fixing broken processes, companies and teams. In this capacity he has served teams that perform veteran disability examinations, in-home infusion patients, and patients needing advanced specialty drugs.

He has also held various positions at Best Buy Corporate, Boston Scientific, and Tyco Electronics, and those roles have spanned from Manufacturing Engineer for a sheet metal production line to launching and leading the largest electronics recycling program in the United States. He has deep experience in improving lagging businesses, turning around team cultural problems, and driving lasting bottom and top-line improvement.
He has a Mechanical Engineering undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, and an MBA in Finance and Operations from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Chris moved to Lincoln in July of 2021 with his wife Taryn, a primary care doctor at CHI. The couple has no children, but enjoys spending time with (and spoiling) their 15 nieces and nephews. Outside of work, they enjoy international and domestic travel, and currently have trips booked to Reykjavic, Iceland, and to Prague, Vienna and Budapest. Chris is originally from Algona, Iowa, and Austin, Minnesota, and his wife Taryn is originally from Wood River, Nebraska. They moved to Lincoln to be closer to Taryn’s family, and love the community so far.
