We’re excited to announce a NEW weekly Tuesday venue for Downtown Lincoln Rotary Club 14 beginning in 2024—the Renaissance Room at the Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel! Please plan to join us for our first meeting in our new home on Tuesday, January 9 at noon with a very special guest speaker, Governor Jim Pillen.

The building’s grandeur, magnificent views, and longstanding history alongside Club 14’s is sure to offer happy memories and a welcoming atmosphere to all.  As you might suspect, with a new venue comes a few new changes:

First, to aid in this venue transition, we’ll have Welcome Signage located at various entry points to the Cornhusker, as well as additional volunteer greeters to help assist. The Renaissance Room is located on the second floor of the Cornhusker. The second floor may be accessed via the elevators located in the Business Plaza (North Side) of the hotel. If entering from the attached City of Lincoln parking garage, Door 3 enters on the hotel’s second floor. There is also garage parking in the U.S. Bank building (non-city garage) connected via the skywalk system into the Cornhusker and nearby metered parking.

Second, the Renaissance Room holds a max of 120 people seated at tables with a few overflow chairs. If you choose to eat lunch at the Renaissance Room during a regular Tuesday meeting, the new price point is $20 to help offset the cost of the new location. The lunch menu will be posted ahead of the registration deadline on rotary14.org and in the weekly Propeller eNewsletter.

We’re expecting a large crowd on Tuesday, January 9 for the Governor’s presentation and want to ensure we do not run out of food. Therefore, we kindly ask that if you plan to eat lunch that day, to please pre-register online and complete your $20 lunch payment at that time. Payments are non-refundable due to the nature of this event. If you will not be eating lunch, then you just need to show up the day of. The following Tuesday, January 16, we’ll return to paying at the door for lunch.

More details to come as we approach the end of a wonderful 2023! In closing, I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our Board of Directors, Roger Ludemann, Ryan Dobesh, Todd Francisco, and our entire Tech Team volunteer group who served on our Venue Search Committee for their efforts in securing us a new Rotary home and ensuring our audio-visual needs will be met. We will continue to offer a hybrid format via Zoom and Facebook Live for the foreseeable future. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me or a member of the Rotary 14 Board of Directors.
