Each year since 1992, Rotary 14 proudly presents the Donald W. Miller Math Recognition Award, recognizing outstanding mathematics educators in the Lincoln area. The club endowed this award in honor of former member, past club president (1986–87) and Rotary leader, Donald W. Miller.This year's award recipient is Dr. Patrick Janike with Lincoln Public Schools. Dr. Janike holds a Doctorate of Education in Mathematics, Master of Arts in Secondary Teaching, and Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Dr. Janike is a math teacher at Lincoln High School and helps students see how math plays an important role in their everyday lives. During his acceptance speech, Dr. Janike thanked his numerous mentors throughout his education and career.
