Families affected by cancer will receive Christmas gifts from Lincoln Rotarians in partnership with Lynette's Angels. We have been assigned the Whitney Family. Here's the information of the Whitney family as provided by Lynette's Angels:"The Whitney Family: Spencer, April, Nolan (Seward High Senior) and Drew (Seward High Freshman).
Spencer was diagnosed with Anaplastic Astrocytoma Grade 3 tumor in his brain back in July of 2015. Shortly after, he had surgery to remove the brain tumor only to find out they couldn't get the entire tumor out. After surgery, they followed up with many rounds of chemo and radiation after to help continue to shrink his tumor. Spencer hasn't been able to work for sometime due to the effects of his brain cancer, so to keep their family afloat, April is currently working 3 jobs to try to support their family. We can't imagine how hard things truly are for them right now. We got the pleasure of meeting with them and the love and care we saw between them were definitely inspiring. Spencer has a fighting spirit and they are truly the kindest people. They are absolutely humbled that they were nominated, and chosen as recipients in this extremely difficult season in their lives."
