NE's Top Gun

On March 20, 1955, Loren Dale Lippincott was born. 2611 Highway 14 in Central City, Nebraska, 68826 is where he is currently residing. In 1973, he earned his high school diploma in Central City. He received his degree from the University of Nebraska in 1978. He graduated as a USAF Pilot on November 27, 1981, and was appointed as a USAF Commission 2 LT on November 18, 1980. He started working as a pilot with Delta Air Lines on February 19, 1990. 

Lippincott grew up on a farm near Central City, NE. In high school Loren was president of his Athletic Club, his class, and the student body president. Loren lettered in sports four years (football, wrestling, track).

During Lippincott’s college years, he was a radio announcer for four years at KBHL-FM; as an on screen announcer for CBS affiliate KOLN-TV for three years (including full time employment after college graduation); as a page in the Nebraska State Legislature for two years; as a personal aide to Nebraska’s Secretary of State (Allen Beermann) throughout college; Lippincott walked on the Nebraska football team his freshman year.

Lippincott graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Communication and Broadcast Journalism with a teaching certificate.

Lippincott entered the United States Air Force and was commissioned through OTS a Second Lieutenant in November 1980. He completed Pilot Training at Vance AFB in November 1981 and selected as a T-37 Instructor Pilot at Vance AFB, Enid, OK. His next assignment was an F-16 at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Lippincott was his squadron’s air to air and air to ground overall Top Gun.

In 1990 Lippincott was hired by Delta Air Lines. He’s been based in Atlanta, GA; Dallas Ft. Worth, TX; and Cincinnati, OH. Lippincott has flown as Second Officer on the 727; First Officer on the MD-88 and Boeing 757 and 767 and 767-400; and International Captain on the 757 and 767 aircraft. He’s flown over 24,000 hours. Retired in 2020.

Lippincott has two sons, Stuart (age 39) married to the former Jill Bullington of Ft. Smith, AR, and has three children; and Jonathan (age 37).

Loren and son Jonathan Lippincott own a Planet Fitness Franchise in Jefferson City, MO.
