Recently, our club sent a delegation to the annual Rotary Large Club Conference (LCC) in Cincinnati, Ohio, composed of President-Elect John Gessert, President Nominee Jess Rustad, and Club Administrator Yolanda Hoffman. LCC is hosted once a year by the Association of Rotary Club Executive Directors and presents the opportunity for Executive Directors to meet with peers for the purpose of development, motivation, exchange of ideas, and training of Presidents-Elect of their Clubs. The Presidents-Elect have an opportunity to exchange their ideas, plans and develop goals for their year as President. Throughout the conference, the Executive Directors, Presidents-Elect, and President Nominees team for each club have the chance to strengthen their partnership as they prepare for the Rotary year ahead. This year's LCC featured an Idea Fair. Our club submitted the Engagement Group Bingo Card. Special thanks to President Christina Usher for the Bingo idea.
Here is President-Elect John Gessert explaining how our bingo card brilliantly addresses the areas of membership recruitment, membership engagement, donations to Club Foundation and Rotary International Foundation, and opportunities for Rotarians to get to know fellow Rotarians in a small group setting. John inspired Rotary One President-Nominee Aleta Williams to do the same in Chicago, while Lori Walters of Ann Arbor and Jesse Bowdle of Oakland said they love to play Bingo!
Recently, President Christina Usher and Immediate Past President Eric Drumheller led in dedicating the Rotary 14's Little Free Pantry Project at The Gathering Place. Rotarians have addressed the food insecurity in Lincoln by stocking the Little Free Pantries all around Lincoln during the pandemic. The Little Free Pantry at The Gathering Place was made possible by Rotarians donations to the Club Foundation which was matched by The Rotary International Foundation, through district funds. Thank you Rotarians! Special thanks to Doyle Hulme and his carpenter friend David Miesbach.
Immediate Past President Eric Drumheller wrote the grant application to the district and he is managing the grant implementation. Thank you, Eric!
November is The Rotary Foundation Month.Click here to donate online to The Rotary Foundation (TRF) of Rotary International (RI). Donating to The Rotary Foundation is a great opportunity for Rotarians to give back. Consider making your annual donation NOW. Your money comes back to us in three years in the form of Global and District grants to spend on our projects. Thank you to those who have donated so far this year.

The President-Nominee Selection Committee chaired by President-Elect John Gessert, at its recent meeting, had unanimously selected Jess Rustad as President Nominee. Jess will become President-Elect in July 2022 and will serve her term as President in 2023-2024. Jess has been an active member and worked tirelessly for Rotary. Jess was Membership Chair in 2017 and was awarded Rookie of the Year. She served as Salute to Business Co-Chair. Jess led a working group in merging two huge club websites. Jess maintains fours years of perfect attendance and served on the Board. Jess is currently Vice President at Farmers Mutual of Nebraska.
As famously published on Facebook: Past President Randy Bretz was a Rotary Reader on Wednesday. That's right, he volunteered to read a book for two pre-school classes. Here's a photo from one of the classes, and showing Randy practicing his reading skills. We're so proud of him for knowing how to pronounce the great big word Pumpkin. You can be a Rotary Reader too. Just get in touch with Stacy Gutschenritter.
