Allen Beermann was Honoree at First Amendment Night
Congratulations, Allen Beermann! Former Secretary of State and Nebraska Press Association Executive Director Allen Beermann was honored this past weekend, along with Former Secretary and Senator Chuck Hagel, at the First Amendment Night hosted by the Omaha Press Club. Beermann was honored for his more than 50 years of sterling record of public service. In response, Beermann delivered an inspiring message in front of a jam-packed room. In the crowd were Beermann's die-hard Rotary friends but word has it that among those in the crowd were fine masters at Rotary. These fine masters are preparing a case to present to President Usher to fine Allen $500 for his more than 50 years of public service. One Rotarian remarked that Allen did not mention Rotary in his speech. President Usher will hear arguments about the fine masters' case next week. We will keep you posted.
