Leach-Oberg Wedding
Pat Leach and Bill Oberg married on Christmas Eve, in Aurora, at East Park Villa, where her parents live. They both wanted a tiny wedding, with just the officiant (her niece, Greta Leach), the two of them, and her parents as the two witnesses. East Park Villa isn't allowing visitors at this time due to COVID, so they made an unconventional arrangement where they were outside, and her Mom and Dad were comfortable inside. They used their phones so that they could hear what was said. It was pretty cold outside, but the ceremony was short, and their hearts were warm. A very COVID wedding!

Pat would like to thank Rotarian Darold Karmazin for designing her ruby and platinum engagement ring and wedding band set. "It's beautiful in its simplicity, and I'm grateful for his good work."
Allen Beermann Awarded “Quilt of Valor”
Allen Beermann, (L) with Carolyn Bowman displaying the quilt.
We want to thank our own Rotarian Allen Beermann for his military service; Happy Retirement! Allen was presented with his Quilt of Valor at the Christmas party. The quilt was pieced by Carolyn Bowman, quilted by Pam Estrada, and bound by Carolyn Bowman. Allen was Nebraska Secretary of State from 1971 -1995, and Executive Director of Nebraska Press Association, from 1995 - 2020.
Carey Collingham Engagement

On Christmas day, Rotarian Carey Collingham brought some holiday and engagement cheer to Ponca State Park with his now-fiancee Amy Fischer. His fun and humorous tale of joy is a reminder that amidst this last year of challenges for everyone we can all choose to find ways to celebrate and embrace some levity!"

The Rotary Foundation, Doing Good in the World
Click here to donate online to The Rotary Foundation (TRF) of Rotary International (RI). Donating to The Rotary Foundation is a great opportunity for Rotarians to give back.  Consider making your annual donation NOW.  Your money comes back to us in three years in the form of Global and District grants to spend on our projects.  Your donation goes worldwide to promote peace and conflict prevention & resolution, disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education, literacy, and economic and community development. Every Rotarian Every Year asks that you consider a gift of at least $100 to The Rotary Foundation.

You can also mail a check made out to The Rotary Foundation to PO Box 83843, Lincoln 68501. Yolanda will send it with the contribution form to TRF. You have until June 30, 2021, to donate for this Rotary year. Any questions, please contact TRF Chair Scott Larson at 402.499.4444.
