Fourth-grade students in Mrs. Lackey’s class at Morley Elementary who received dictionaries through our Club said Thank you to Rotarians!
From Meagan Liesveld: "My daughter is in the class and was thrilled to tell her class a little about Rotary (she did the highway pick up with me last fall, so shared a bit about our volunteerism) and to also share with me what joy and excitement the dictionaries brought to the classroom. One person in her class was so excited; he took it out to recess with him on the day he received it! It created quite a positive buzz at Morley on that day, and they wanted to convey their thanks with the card".
Last week at Rotary we honored the service and memory of Nebraska Army National Guard Air Medic, SGT Heather Springer as part of our Memorial Day Program. We also had the opportunity to learn about the Nebraska National Guard Museum from its director, Col. Gerry Meyer. Congratulations to: Barbara Bartle on officially becoming the District Governor Elect., Randy Bretz on being elected to the District Board of Directors, Lorie Cook-Benjamin and Sandi Fabry for graduating from Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI). Jazz in June is seeking volunteers. Contact Madeline Reddel if you are interested (thanks Bill Stephan for the fun fine).

We have enjoyed staying connected to Everett students by “Zoom reading” to them every single week since September. The new format has been very successful and we created this short video to share our experience as readers!Click here to watch the video edited by Randy Bretz. Shout out to U.S. Bank for being the sponsor of the Read Aloud program this year, providing 2 new books per month to each Everett child we read to throughout the school year. “U.S. Bank is a proud member of the Lincoln community and thrilled to have the opportunity to support the students, teachers, and families at Everett Elementary by sponsoring books for Rotary 14’s Read Aloud program.
