Miki Esposito, Sr. Policy Advisor, City of Lincoln
Miki works for the City of Lincoln, Nebraska as the Senior Policy Advisor to Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird. With eleven years-experience serving in executive leadership and senior management roles, her eighteen-year career is highlighted by extensive government experience at the local, state, and federal level that includes public administration, legislative affairs, regulatory compliance, emergency response, strategic planning, finance, and budget formulation, communications, public relations, and media management as well as program and project delivery.  
 
Miki has special expertise in natural resources and environmental law and policy, with a Juris Doctorate from Washburn University School of Law as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Baker University in Kansas. She was selected in November 2020 to lead the Mayor’s Resilient Lincoln initiative which focuses on the adoption and implementation of the city’s Climate Action Plan.

WFCS March 1 Grant Deadline
Who puts the International in Rotary International?  
Your World Fellowship and Community Service Committee!
March 1 is the deadline to submit a grant to your WFCS Committee.
Grants can be small ($1-5k) or large Global Grants ($30k+) but must address at least one of the six areas of RI focus - 
·       Peace and conflict prevention/resolution
·       Disease prevention and treatment
·       Water and sanitation
·       Maternal and child health
·       Basic education and literacy
·       Economic and community development.

The Rotary Foundation, Doing Good in the World

Donating to The Rotary Foundation is a great opportunity for Rotarians to give back.  Consider making your annual donation NOW.  Your money comes back to us in three years in the form of Global and District grants to spend on our projects.  Your donation goes worldwide to promote peace and conflict prevention & resolution, disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education, literacy, and economic and community development. Every Rotarian Every Year asks that you consider a gift of at least $100 to The Rotary Foundation.

You can also mail a check made out to The Rotary Foundation to PO Box 83843, Lincoln 68501. Yolanda will send it with the contribution form to TRF. You have until June 30, 2021, to donate for this Rotary year. Any questions, please contact TRF Chair Scott Larson at 402.499.4444.
Last Week at Rotary
Last week at Rotary Presiding Officer was Eric Drumheller with Secretary Morrie Enders. Virtual Meeting Host was Art Zygielbaum. Program Host Lisa Lee introduced our Rotarian Kate Engel with Nebraska Innovation Campus. Reminder to register for Rise Shine Give virtual brunch event on Saturday, February 6, 2021. Funds raised will help support The Gathering Place’s HVAC replacement and our club foundation. Other ways to support our community: Donate to the District’s Virtual Food Drive (funds donated from Lincoln clubs will be sent to the Food Bank of Lincoln) – the deadline is the end of the month, sign up to be a mentor – contact Jim Bennett for more information. Please keep Dave Livingston and his family in your thoughts. His younger sister, Carolyn Livingston Brown, passed away in Sacramento, California.
