  being the Senior Economist\, he served at the Vice President of Governmen
 tal Relations for Farm Bureau. Jay has a long career working on agricultur
 al issues at the state and federal level with expertise on tax\, school fi
 nance\, trade\, regulatory\, and water issues facing farmers and ranchers.
  Jay earned a Master of Science in agricultural economics from the Univers
 ity of Nebraska-Lincoln. He also received a Bachelor of Science in agricul
 ture from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln\, majoring in Agribusiness. P
 rior to earning his master’s degree\, Jay worked in Omaha as a commodity
  merchandiser. Jay and his wife\, Jan\, have three children\, Davis and wi
 fe Allie\, and twins Jackson and Maggie.
