Do not miss Art Zygielbaum's compelling family tale about the Holocaust and his grandfather's heroic role in the Warsaw Ghetto.
Dr. Arthur (Art) Zygielbaum is an Emeritus Research Associate Professor from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln School of Natural Resources. In January 2019 he began his second attempt at retirement. Art joined UNL after spending nearly 30 years at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, progressing from an engineer working on spacecraft tracking systems to a senior manager. He was on the science and tracking teams of many space missions, including Voyager, Viking and Helios, and helped test Einstein’s theory of general relativity.
Recently, Rotary Director Ken Koop recognized Past President Randy Bretz as Paul Harris Fellow +3. Randy has been a Rotarian for 15 years and has maintained perfect Rotary attendance for ten years. Randy was twice awarded Rotary's most coveted award, the Rotarian of the Year. An active Rotarian, Randy served on the Rotary Board, as President, the program committee, the District 5650 membership committee in 2018-19, and currently serving as Director at Large at the Rotary District 5650 Board.
Randy’s career has involved broadcasting, telecommunications, higher education, church leadership, and public corporation leadership. He’s produced more than 20 TEDx events, hundreds of television shows, a series of podcasts, and written articles mostly about interesting people he’s met and published a book of those articles, "The People of Lincoln." He’s active on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Linkedin. He’s been in all 50 states, participated in a week-long rafting trip through the Grand Canyon, and attended a Rotary meeting in Beijing, China.
Randy gives to the Rotary International Foundation because he has seen Rotary's amazing things throughout the world. He knows his donation of $4,000.00 will go to those good causes.
